Position Summary:We seek a forward-thinking education leader, strategic thinker, relationship builder, and experienced manager to join our team as our Education Programs Manager. The Education Programs Manager reports to the Director of Education and Community Engagement and is responsible for the development, administration and management the Museum’s education programs for school-based audience and creative youth. This position is responsible for the implementation of all facets of education program delivery, including but not limited to: conception, development and coordination with teaching artists, schools and capturing and analyzing pre- and post-program evaluations.
This position oversees the coordination and delivery of the Museum’s online-learning initiatives with outreach to local and regional schools; develops and strengthens new and emerging relationships; and collaborates with educators to ensure programs meet their needs. They will also oversee the implementation of ICA Miami’s key education initiatives; Young Artists Initiative (YAI), School Initiatives, and Portfolio Prep.
The ideal candidate is a creative, big-picture thinker and networker, building opportunities for our Education department. They are an open-minded, strong collaborator, working with all departments within the Museum especially with the Curatorial and Visitor Experience departments, to create compelling educational content & experiences in support of a broad range of interpretive and exhibit projects. They are committed to the professional development and mentorship of their team of teaching artists and are a passionate educator, developing new methodologies and best practices for engaging youth, opening minds, and building skills.
ICA Miami is especially interested in candidates whose backgrounds and experience have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion with culturally diverse audiences. An ideal candidate will implement programs to advance learning, participation, and engagement for children, teens, and educators, from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs. They will work with the Director of Education and Community Engagement and their team to set strategies for growth, as well as measurable quarterly and annual priorities. The Education Programs Manager also supervises contracted teaching artists, who function as program instructors and works with their team to design and implement a robust curriculum to expand visual literacy and enhance students’ skill set.
Responsibilities:- Oversee, evaluate, and support part-time, contracted teaching artists to ensure the successful implementation of Young Artists Initiative, Portfolio Prep and School Initiatives
- Collaborate with teaching artists to develop curriculum, measurable outcomes, and student evaluations for their programs
- Collaborate with curatorial and visitor services departments to develop exhibition curriculum and resources
- Develop trainings, resources, measurable outcomes and evaluations for online learning, education, and accessible tours
- Develop and lead training workshops MDPS teachers and teaching artists to contribute to scholarship in the field
- Develop collaborative relationships with teachers and administrators in the Miami-Dade Public Schools system
- Develop and oversee the museum’s internship program by working with museum directors to develop duties and projects for interns, implement training for interns
- Submit semester reports to Director of Education and Community Engagement that reflect student learning and achievement of outcomes
- Work with Director of Education and Community Engagement to develop YAI alumni programming including, tracking, recruitment, and recognition
