Job Description:

Basic Function
 
The Senior Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships will oversee the strategic development of the Center’s sponsorship program, concentrating on financial assistance through sponsorship of Center presented and produced shows.  This position will work to identify, solicit and steward major local, national, and international business and corporate sponsors; manage and track the sponsorship proposals and create direct marketing efforts to corporate prospects. She/he/they are responsible for working with the Marketing, Programming and Development departments to increase the earned revenue for Arsht Center’s programming initiatives.
 
Responsibilities
 
The Senior Director is responsible for creating a comprehensive plan for engagement sponsorship and for overseeing, managing and executing the Center's sponsorship efforts. This position is responsible for all aspects of engagement sponsorships including prospecting, stewardship, tracking, fulfillment and eventual renewals. As a key member of the Center’s marketing team, s/he will work closely with the Development Office, senior management, Board of Directors and high-level volunteers to meet and set sales goals and fulfill any applicable sponsor benefits.  
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Researching potential new sources of sponsorship;
  • Researching corporate marketing trends;
  • Maintaining a list of prospects and implementing on-going corporate cultivation;
  • Designing sponsorship strategies and creating sponsorship marketing materials       including proposals, benefits, power point presentations and reports;
  • Matching prospects with appropriate opportunities;
  • Drafting acknowledgment letters and other correspondence; and
  • Tracking and completing sponsorship fulfillment.

Job Requirements:

Ideal Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field;
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • 5-7 years of fundraising, marketing or sponsorship experience;
  • Requires relevant business development work experience, strong partnership management experience and the ability to deliver immediate value.
  • Ability to effectively create and deliver high quality written and oral presentations;
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing a solicitation campaign including cultivation, face-to-face presentation, and creation of benefits tailored to each prospect and long-term relationship building.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  • Developed understanding of the role of Arsht Center as it relates to the community;
  • Understanding of how to function effectively in a multi-ethnic work environment and community;
  • Passion for and a background that includes extensive experience in the performing arts or live entertainment is a plus
  • Understanding of collaborative, team-oriented leadership style;
  • Ability to effectively multi-task;
  • Prior experience managing budgets;
  • Knowledge of trends in sponsorship and fundraising;
  • Experience in collaborating with internal and external constituencies;
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptionally creative and results-oriented.

 Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 20 pounds  of materials.
  • The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
