Job Description:
Miami Cancer Institute Arts in Medicine Program The creative arts can imporve the quality of life of cancer patients. The Miami Cancer Insitute Arts in Medicine program is transforming the patient experience with the vision to impact over 200,000 patients, caregivers and visitors annuually. The objectives of this program are to engage patients in the creative arts, create a therapeutic platform for self-expression, reduce stress and anxiety in a healing enviroment and improve health outcomes of cancer patients.
Job Requirements:
2023 Artist-in-Residence Fellowship The program welcomes visual artists and musicians of varied experiences, backgrounds, and knowledge to facilitate patient led creative processes. The paid independent contractor position will require a one-year commitment of 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule, Monday through Friday at $38,460 a year. The following includes a list of essential criteria for applicants of the Artist-in-Residence Fellowship program at Miami Cancer Institute. Established professional artist in the community Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional empathy, compassion and a profound ability to engage with patients and caregivers Experience and comfort working with diverse populations Prior experience or vested interest in facilitating art engagements tailored to each patient in a healthcare setting Three professional references in the field Sample of artistic work (video/audio performance, portfolio) Participate in a 1-2 week online “Artist in Healthcare Setting” training program by UF Health Shands Mentor graduate creative arts students in the healthcare setting Meet vaccination and background check requirements To be considered, please submit your application by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, per
