The Curatorial Intern assists PAMM’s curatorial team with research and development of current and upcoming exhibitions, curatorial presentations, and general departmental functions. The Curatorial Intern works collaboratively across the department and is an integral part of the curatorial team at PAMM. Duties will include compiling information about artists, composing interpretive texts, gathering support materials, preparing digital materials, creating mockups of artworks, and various administrative tasks. This curatorial internship offers an opportunity to conduct research related to artworks and artists featured at PAMM. The intern may on occasion be asked to work on tasks and projects for the Museum’s registration and education departments.
Once a month, all PAMM interns will take networking field trips to neighboring cultural organizations to hear from their administrators about various institutions’ practices. They will also have the opportunity to network with PAMM employees and learn about career paths through brown bag lunch meetings.
The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) Internship will provide an active training ground for participants to gain new skills and knowledge of arts administration to apply to future employment in museums and cultural institutions. This is an unpaid internship opportunity and applicants must be registered for credits in an internship course to be eligible.
*Note that the internship will start remotely for employee safety and will move to a hybrid format (some remote work, some on the ground work) once the museum is officially opened to the public.
