Job Description:

The Miami Program Manager will manage and oversee the educational program for 2020-2021 resident artists in both Miami and New Orleans. This year, ProjectArt will be shifting it’s program to a virtual platform and will be open for students and organizations in our 4 regions beginning mid-September 2020. The Miami Program Manager will report to the Miami Director and work closely to continue developing the program as it enters its 4th year. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Managing teaching residencies for 4 local artists at our Miami-Dade Public Library Branches regions, South East (Culmer/Overtown, Hispanic), Central (Model City, Shenandoah), South West (Kendall), and North (Arcola, North Central); and 1 local artist in New Orleans. 

  • Serve as a liaison between MDPLS Library Staff, ProjectArt Artists, Community Partners, and families. 

  • Responsible for student enrollment, updating and maintaining databases.

  • Weekly conference meetings with NYC headquarters

  • Proofreading artists’ lesson plans

  • Conducting virtual studio visits with Miami Director

  • Administration of class schedules for each of the 4 artists.

  • Joining Virtual Classes 

  • Checking attendance daily for attendance goals 

  • E-blast and correspondence to families, community partners and library partners.

  • Student recruitment where needed.

  • Troubling shooting artists on app (training for app)

  • Assisting in the development and coordination of Final Resident and Student Exhibitions.

  • Natural willingness and discipline to work independently.

  • Positive and open-minded to work in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree; a minimum of two (2) years of applicable work experience. 

  • Experience working with non-profit organizations is a plus. 

  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suites required. 

  • Basic computer skills and social media. 

  • Experience working in the arts community

  • Passion for the Arts.
