Job Description:

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is seeking an experienced, skilled, and highly motivated Facility Electrical Engineer to support the Engineering Manager.

Basic Function

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities Engineering, this position troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on various systems that include but are not limited to HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, electrical and equipment. May be required to perform other related duties such as light construction including framing, insulating, dry walling, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, patching, finish work and be an acumen for safety.

Immediate Priorities

The Facility Electrical Engineer immediate priorities are to:
• Complete preventative maintenance in both buildings
• Trouble shooting of 480/120 volt and low voltage systems including lighting and power distribution systems
• Provide event coverage
• All other duties assigned

Job Requirements:

Ideal Experience

The Facility Electrical Engineer should have the following type of experience and qualifications:

• Minimum two years’ experience of electrical maintenance
• HVAC Certified a plus
• Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in maintenance repairs
• 2 years of Building Automation Controls experience a plus
• Experience with Building Maintenance Systems
• Understanding of As-built drawings, MEP drawings and electrical schematics
• High School diploma or GED equivalent and the ability to read and write English.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Must have the ability to work independently, plan effectively and prioritize
• Eligible to work in the US

Desired Qualifications

• Associates Degree in relevant field
• Post high school vocational or trade school training in electrical repair
• Bi-lingual

• The ability to communicate effectively

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 50 pounds of materials.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently climb and work from a ladder or lift and/or work in confined spaces.
• The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
