Job Description:

The Digital Media Storyteller is integral to conceptualizing and producing stories about New World Symphony and New World Center across a range of disciplines and message points. Collaboration and planning with various NWS departments is essential to create inspiring videos, photos and written content that supports our work in areas of marketing, brand awareness, fundraising and revenue generation. While the technical skills are vital to succeeding, the mindset and talent for crafting a story is of equal importance. 



  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a media, journalism, broadcast or production environment
  • Portfolio of impressive multimedia work, including narrative works with high production and storytelling value
  • Demonstrated experience with all stages of the creative process, including but not limited to: planning, scripting, capturing and editing stills, audio and video
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects on varying deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral; consisting of e-mail exchanges with interviewees, colleagues, external stakeholders; planning and coordination; acting as a representative for NWS; captions and editing, etc.)
  • Keen eye for detail and composition
  • Demonstrated experience with graphics, video, audio, editing and other software programs required to carry out high-level production, such as the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) or comparable video/photo editing programs
  • Team player with excellent organizational skills
  • Interest or knowledge of classical music or the performing arts is a plus

Job Requirements:


  • Produce powerful creative multimedia works about the New World Symphony, New World Center and its mission
  • Translate and prioritize internal stakeholder requests for video content into compelling stories
  • Discuss content ideas from across the organization with Director of Digital Communications and VP/Communications
  • Provide regular updates on project timelines to Director of Digital Communications
  • Leverage local networks and production contacts to coordinate filming and additional videographers and/or equipment as needed
  • Manage relationships and communications with third-party vendors, including freelance videographers
  • Create, curate, organize and catalog a body of raw creative material (photography, video, audio) for use in storytelling; inclusive of fundraising, grant proposals, social media, marketing and media
  • Provide editorial, videography and multimedia support on special projects as required
  • Act as a representative of NWS at relevant conferences, meetings, events (such as the NWS Gala and WALLCAST Concerts) and/or other industry events
  • Work as a team member with Communications staff on various projects as assigned
