Job Description:

Basic Function:
 
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications and Storytelling, this temporary position provides support to the Communications department.
 
Availability and Hours:
  • 29 hours per week in-person
  • Must be available from March 25 – July 12 
Responsibilities 
  • Provides on-site media coordination for events and activities presented by the Center.
  • Ability to attend performances, rehearsals, and other PR events on evenings and weekends. This position requires flexibility in scheduling the workday as it requires irregular hours.
  • Coordinate logistics of media activities (performances, press conferences, special events, opening nights, etc.).
  • Supervise and direct tasks of hired photographers (includes booking, obtaining permissions, creating shot lists, managing shoots,).
  • Review daily newspapers for mentions about the Center; update and maintain the team’s newsstand and digital press wall.
  • Maintain a neat, organized and up-to-date archive of all articles about the Center, compile reports, share media clips and track coverage.
  • Maintain and update press materials, including the Center’s digital press room and resizing/sharing press materials with media.
  • Develops and maintains all media lists and distribution systems.
  • Complete any special assignments or projects, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Music Business or related course of study
  • 1-2 years professional office administration experience, ideally in Communications/Marketing.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent written and oral language skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and familiarity with basic photo editing.
  • Strong personal interest in communications and the performing arts
  • Preference for a multi-ethnic and multi-lifestyle workplace
  • A collegial and open-minded approach to the tasks at hand

  • The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
