Develop and lead a multi-channel communications strategy for the organization;
Lead a team of staff members and contractors focused on strategic communications, public relations and design;
Manage and assist in the creation of all digital, video and print communications materials for the organization;
Oversee the organization’s social media channels and manage an editorial calendar that elevates the brand messages.
Utilize the organization’s communications metrics to make data-driven decisions.
Manage Oolite Arts’ presence at the organization’s events throughout the year.
Regularly engage with resident artists and filmmakers to help promote their practices
Work with the web developer to continuously improve Oolite’s online presence.
Work across departments to gather data for the creation of an annual report, from concept to production.
Ensure all communication collateral is consistent with the overall brand and messaging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and compelling style for a variety of platforms.
Ability to analyze the effectiveness of all marketing and communications efforts.
Knowledge of contemporary art and Miami’s visual arts community;
Strong attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; a minimum of five (5) years of applicable work experience.
Experience running successful social media campaigns and increasing subscribers and engagement.
Previous working experience in a non-profit setting highly desirable.
Experience managing a team and working across departments in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with AP style.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, WordPress, Google Web Analytics, Google Ads, Adobe Creative Suite, MailChimp, Altru, Sprout Social (or similar).
Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects, activities, and actions with competing deadlines and levels of urgency.
Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff, artists and independent contractors.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of Spanish/Creole is a plus
Must be an independent, self-starter and team player with a passion for the arts and the power of storytelling.
COMPENSATION:
The Communications Director compensation level is commensurate with experience and includes a strong benefits plan, including health insurance, and 401(k) matching.
