Job Description:

Title:                           Special Events Coordinator
Location (based):       Art and Culture Center/Hollywood Florida (ACCH), 1650 Harrison Street, Hollywood           
About the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood: 
ACCH opened its doors in 1975 – 47 years ago. It is the third oldest arts nonprofit in Broward County and one of South Florida’s leading multidisciplinary arts organizations for contemporary gallery exhibitions, arts education for youth, and award-winning documentary short films. ACCH also manages a 500-seat theater.   
Salary Range:            $40,000 to $50,000 annually for full-time position with benefits (100% paid health insurance, Simple IRA, holidays and more). Availability to work on nights and weekends if a special event is scheduled then.
Liaison With:             ACCH staff and management, Event Chairs, Sponsors & General Public.
Reports to:                 Executive Director
Primary function:     Plan and coordinate logistics of Center fundraising and programmatic events while also meeting budgetary goals. 
Duties, Candidate Requirements and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have been responsible or have been part of a team in executing a minimum of three to five successful fundraising events. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, logistics, execution, planning and attending committee meetings; assist in securing, managing, training and motivating staff and volunteers working the fundraisers and programmatic events; maintaining all materials and guest lists relating to the fundraiser/event; assist in obtaining sponsorships, ticket sales, advertisers, auction items and other revenue sources related to the fundraiser. Coordinate post event evaluation and assessment and address opportunities for event improvements.  In addition, this person will work with the Executive Director and Development Director with other revenue generating and programming projects.

Job Requirements:

A 4-year degree in Communications/Public Relations from an accredited institution preferred though not required. Minimum of coordinating or being a part of a team that executed three to five successful fundraising events is necessary.
Candidate should have excellent communication skills – both verbally and written and be detail-oriented, computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software preferred.  The candidate should work well as part of a team as well as be self-directed and have strong time management, communication, and customer service traits. The candidate must also have good organizational and administrative skills as well as an ability to work with the public and maintain positive, professional manner under sometimes stressful situations.
