Job Description:

Basic Function
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Information Technology.  The IT Support Technician provides analytical and technical support for the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications and enhancements to individual workstations, related hardware and software.
  • Answers staff questions in person, via phone and via email on all company-supported applications and hardware   
  • Works one-on-one with staff on resolving issues, troubleshooting computer, application, and printer issues 
  • Determines the root cause of a reported issue (hardware, software, user access, etc.) and advise staff on appropriate action 
  • Escalates issues as necessary, seeking out advice and assistance early and openly 
  • Serves as liaison between staff and the IT department to understand and resolve issues proactively 
  • Trains staff on the effective use of company-supported technology 
  • Uses and updates the Center’s IT help desk system, documenting resolutions for future reference and tracking time spent on issues 
  • Performs general office work, including attending meetings, preparing reports, entering computer data, copying and filing documents, etc. as necessary 
  • Assists the IT department in maintaining hardware and software 
  • Processes invoices related to departmental purchases 
  • Participates in rotating IT on-call procedure 
  • Establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security 
  • Due to the nature of this organization and industry, this position will require regular, although occasional night and weekend work
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned 

Job Requirements:

Ideal Experience
  • An associate degree from an accredited educational institution in computer information systems or a directly related field and one (1) year experience which demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot computer problems (hardware and/or software) -OR- a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in computer information systems or a directly related field 
  • Experience supporting small- to medium-sized organization on basic technology help desk needs 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Office applications, printers and copiers 
  • Experience supporting Dell desktops and notebooks, Microsoft Surface devices and iOS devices 
  • Familiarity with help desk ticket tracking 
  • An interest in the Performing Arts

  • Workstations: 200 workstations, Microsoft Surface tablets and Dell desktops, Windows 10, Office 365 
  • Voice and collaboration services:  Microsoft Teams 
  • Business applications: Microsoft Dynamics GP (accounting, payroll), Microsoft SharePoint (Intranet and report distribution), Tessitura (CRM, sales and fundraising), SiSense (business analytics), Artifax (facility scheduling), Office 365 suite

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 75 pounds of materials.
  • The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
