MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- High School diploma (minimum requirement); higher level of education preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of 1 year of retail experience in a retail store or attraction setting
- Must be friendly and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully and effectively with guests
- Must be able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be a team player who can work under minimal supervision
- Must show flexibility when asked to perform other tasks as needed
- Must have basic computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, Email)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time, talk and hear. Daily tasks require variety of physical activities, related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. The employee is required to walk around the retail vicinity to ensure proper retail floor visibility, sitting only when the task assignment requires it; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to work for extended periods of time standing and moving about frequently on hard surfaces from space to space for differing tasks. There will be a constant need to position oneself to process merchandise, which will also require bending, pulling, reaching, climbing and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 50 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Availability
Must be available a minimum of 5 days a week from 9:30AM - 6:30PM or 10AM - 7PM. Must also be available to work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The working environment is both the interior and exterior spaces of the museum.
