Job Description:

Position Overview:  The Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for the planning and implementation of the museum’s corporate giving programs including exhibition, event, and program sponsorships.  The Director will develop and execute strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate support in partnership with the Development Director, Museum Director, and Board of Trustees. Through cross-departmental collaboration, the Director will develop an extensive understanding of PAMM’s programming and fundraising priorities and position these strategic priorities with potential corporate donors.

 

 

Job Requirements:

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to: 

  • Determine, plan, and implement PAMM strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate support, in conjunction with the Director of Development and with the Manager, Corporate Relations.
  • Manage a portfolio of local, regional, and national corporate prospects and donors that can generate upwards of $1 million dollars in annual operating support for the museum.
  • Maintain a portfolio of corporate prospects and donors for personal cultivation, spending at least 50% of his/her time on prospect and donor contact.
  • Develop and maintain a budget for corporate revenue and expenses.
  • Establish and oversee a calendar of corporate relations activities including solicitations and acknowledgment/reporting to support the museum’s fundraising goals.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Corporate Relations, and other Development personnel to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, receipts, and timely gift acknowledgments.
  • Maintain timely and consistent moves management reports for all corporate stewardship.
  • Create a list of deadlines and a work plan to meet funder requirements.
  • Supervise the development of sponsorship decks and collateral for all PAMM events, exhibitions, and programs available for sponsorship.
  • Establish tracking systems to ensure proper relationships with current and future funders.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Corporate Relations to plan and manage event and activation related sponsorship benefits
  • Create and execute the Annual PAMM Corporate Luncheon, one of PAMM’s four major fundraising events.
  • Secure and fulfill five- and six-figure corporate sponsorships for PAMM’s major annual fundraising events: Art + Soul, Art of the Party, Kids Jamm, and Corporate Luncheon.
  • Availability to work during evenings and over weekends as museum events and sponsor activations require.

Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree/4-Year Degree

Qualifications:

  • Must embrace the mission of PAMM 
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills. 
  • Have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising. 
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers. 
  • Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships. 
  • Be a “self-starter” and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls. 
  • Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals. 
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and the community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability. 
  • 5 years minimum experience in professional fundraising. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, museum studies or related field is highly desirable.
  • Five years of management experience, preferably in an art museum, the arts, or non-profit setting.
  • Proven track record in fund development, including corporate solicitations.
  • Ability to work with major donors to cultivate giving and involvement.
