Director of Community EngagementThe Director of Community Engagement oversees the development and delivery of offsite Community Engagement initiatives and partnerships. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will serve as a key member of the museum’s senior leadership team and is responsible for implementing and expanding MOCA’s community engagement objectives. The Director of Community Engagement will secure and lead critical partnerships and serve as the museum’s ambassador throughout its surrounding community. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to integrating learning, culture, creativity, and civic engagement as an avenue to creating more equitable and accessible institutions. This is a new position for a dynamic, flexible leader with a collaborative spirit to work in a rapidly transforming museum that aspires to become a leader in the growth of the city that surrounds it.
Major Areas of Responsibility- Establish and maintain meaningful, mutually beneficial community partnerships with local organizations and community stakeholders throughout North Miami and Miami-Dade County.
- Collaborate with colleagues to grow existing community engagement initiatives, including programs in schools, libraries, parks, and other venues.
- Create and implement program evaluation criteria for qualitative and quantitative feedback to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of community engagement programs.
- In line with the museum’s strategic plan, advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and access initiatives in order to promote MOCA’s values, mission, and vision.
- Participate in Board of Trustee meetings, including relevant committees.
- Collaborate with the exhibitions and education departments to create opportunities for community engagement focused on upcoming exhibitions.
- Collaborate with the development and communications departments by providing a clear schedule of upcoming community engagement events (including relevant content for promotions/social media), and assisting with grant proposals and gift solicitations.
- Facilitate and participate in events related to community engagement and educational programs, including fundraising and cultivation events.
- Plan, develop, and manage budgets related to community engagement, working closely with the Deputy Director.

- Superior public speaking skills, specifically when interacting with community stakeholders, donors, and museum visitors.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail.
This is a full-time, salaried position, with a Monday-Friday schedule. Occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend work required for special events and programs. A level 2 background check will be required upon offer of employment.Reports to: Executive Director

Compensation: Salary starting at $70,000, depending upon experience, including a competitive benefits package.
