Job Description:

Graphic Designer
 
Under the supervision of the Director of Communications, the Graphic Designer's primary responsibility is to administer and produce print, digital, and social media material related to the institutional communications, branding, and promotion of the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami. They are responsible for translating concepts and designs across multiple platforms and media while maintaining brand identity and consistency. Their design work will realize the messaging and marketing conceptualization that is created and directed by the Director of Communications.
 
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 
  • Design materials that complement exhibition, education, and development program promotions, including but not limited to:
  • Print – invitations, program guides, signage, brochures, posters, wall signs, banners, text panels, object labels, etc.
  • Digital – web content and collateral, website maintenance and updates, e-blasts, social media, digital ads, newsletters, etc.
  • Take design projects from concept to completion, including procuring estimates, creating and maintaining project budgets, coordinating schedules, and supervising vendors.
  • Create social media posts for all museum events.
  • Maintain and update the museum’s website (www.mocanomi.org), regularly checking for errors or issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in print/web production and design.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strength in typography.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Superior communication and follow-up.
  • Proactive problem-solver.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent collaboration skills; a team-player.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
  • BFA in graphic design or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in print and web design.
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with WordPress.
HIGHLY DESIRED
  • Photography, Illustrator, and InDesign skills.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
‚ÄčThis is a full-time, salaried position requiring some early morning, late evening and weekend hours as necessary.
