Job Description:

The Front of House team is responsible for the seating and safety of all patrons and is made up of the House Manager, Box Office Manager, Assistant House Manager, Box Office Associates and Ushers. They are the face of Miami New Drama at the Colony Theatre, and as such, are also responsible for the enjoyment and positive experience of all patrons.

Now seeking applicants for Assistant House Managers, Box Office Associates and Ushers. These individuals are expected to provide wonderful customer service in the high-stress environment of live theatre and events, attend all Front of House meetings before events, and carry out any tasks assigned by the house manager or box office manager and are relevant to the Front of House experience.

 

Duties: 

  • Direct and escort patrons to their seats

  • Scan tickets both paper and mobile
  • ​Process ticket orders and distribute tickets at events
  • Maintain the general cleanliness and safety of the theatre

  • Enforcing all rules and regulations as directed by the house manager

  • Follow all guidelines on how to assist patrons with disabilities or accessibility needs

  • Remain at assigned station for an indefinite period of time

  • Answer questions regarding Colony Theatre policies and upcoming events, including the Miami New Drama Season

  • Attend all front of house meetings as directed by the house manager

  • Ensure the safety of all patrons throughout the duration of the event, and be able to assist with any and all emergency procedures

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism in stressful situations

  • Able to lift up to 20lbs

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of events

  • Able to read small print

  • Able to communicate (including reading) in English

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, as well as repeatedly climb stairs

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

  • Attend training on such topics as crowd management, emergency procedures, etc.


Part-time On Call Hourly position. $15 per hour plus parking reimbursement.
