Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities
Below summarizes the list of duties for the Part-Time Visitor Services position. Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

Greet patrons and provide ICA Miami approved information about ICA Miami and its exhibitions, programs, and events, as well as the Design District and Miami.
Engage patrons and create a positive visitor experience.
Monitor galleries and artwork.
Provide both scheduled and unscheduled tours.
Track admissions and collect demographic information; • Record gift shop sales and monitor inventory.
Answer phones and transfer to the appropriate staff.
Open and Close the museum as scheduled, following established procedures; and
Assist at ICA Miami events and programs, as needed.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in an arts related discipline.
Previous experience in a museum setting or equivalent.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience speaking in front of groups and leading tours preferred.
Demonstrated interest in arts and culture; community engagement, and/or museums.
Bilingual strongly preferred: Spanish or Creole.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 25 pounds of materials.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.

Rate of Pay

$15/hour
Upon the completion of a successful annual review, employees can become eligible for a pay increase. Pay increases are dependent of performance and at the discretion of managers and Director level staff.

Schedule
Must be able to work at least 2 full shifts (10:30 am – 6 pm) and 1 half shift (1 pm – 5 pm) per week, one of which must be a weekend day.
