Job Description:

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is seeking an experienced, skilled, and highly motivated Systems Administrator to support the Assistant Vice President, Information Technology.    

Basic Function

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the Arsht Center’s computer systems, servers, and cloud infrastructure.  Although the position will primarily work within Microsoft systems, it will also support other technologies such as Macs and some 3rd-party software. This position is heavily focused on the Microsoft stack including an on-premise Active Directory infrastructure and both Microsoft 365 and Azure tenants.  The Systems Administrator will monitor and maintain existing systems while recommending and implementing improvements to increase employee productivity.
The successful candidate will have a track record of increasing Microsoft systems administration responsibilities in a multi-building, multi-tenant facility. Additionally, this position will share end user help desk responsibilities across all IT disciplines.  In support of the Center’s events and performances, occasional but regular night and weekend on site work is required.

Systems administration responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Microsoft 365 tenant design, deployment, and maintenance
  • Microsoft 365 service administration, including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Microsoft 365 service health monitoring
  • Microsoft 365 Spam and Security administration
  • Microsoft 365 Licensing administration
  • Hybrid on premise Active Directory and Azure Active Directory administration including DNS, DHCP, GPO
  • Microsoft Azure tenant administration including Azure Virtual Machines and Windows Virtual Desktop
  • On premise physical and virtual server and storage infrastructure
  • On premise and cloud backup systems
  • Voice and collaboration systems including Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Session Border Controllers, analog phone lines, Zeacom Enghouse contact center
  • Desktop, notebook, and mobile device management with Intune
  • Campus-wide security camera system
  • Copier and printer administration
  • Upgrades, migrations, optimizations, and new implementations of systems
  • Develop, document, and communicate systems best practices

Job Requirements:


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong background in Enterprise-level systems architecture design and maintenance
  • At least 5 years of Microsoft systems administration skills working in a hybrid on premise/cloud environment.
  • Experience administering a multi-tenant Active Directory environment.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining secure systems in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience implementing and administering the Microsoft 365 stack
  • Experience provisioning and maintaining devices with Microsoft Intune.
  • Appropriate Microsoft 365 and/or Azure certificates.
  • Ability to self-teach and learn new or unknown technologies quickly without guidance or mentorship.
  • Customer-focused attitude.
