Artists in Residence in Everglades, Inc. (AIRIE) seeks a Program Manager who will work to further its mission to provide first hand experiences to contemporary artists of all disciplines so that they may cultivate an appreciation of the Everglades and apply that inspiration to their artistic practice and advocate for the conservation of the Everglades. 
 

The Program Manager is responsible for the organizational management of its artist residency program, exhibitions, public programs and fundraising activities. Using exceptional communication skills, administrative prowess as well as grant writing and development protocols. 

 

The Program Manager will manage and implement fundraising strategies to meet the budgeted goals of the organization through engagement with corporate, planned-giving, foundations, governmental support and private individuals. 

This is a full-time, independent contractor position.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 

  • Manage all fundraising activities, grant identification, grant writing, and reporting, manage annual giving programs and corporate sponsorship.

  • Manage the artist residency and work with the residents to maximize their stay in the residency, arrange for scientific and other professional support for each resident in collaboration with the Host Committee Chair, and oversee maintenance of the AIRIE Residence apartment in Everglades National Park. 

  • Act as liaison with the Everglades National Park. Assure that communications are clear, cordial and up-to-date about AIRIE programs, residents and artwork.

  • Manage  planning and execution of all programming including exhibitions in the AIRIE Nest Gallery, public programs and outreach programs in the community.

  • Manage organizational communications and marketing including website, newsletters, social media posts and communications with AIRIE community members and audiences, maintain mailing lists.

  • Maintain current local, state and federal compliance standards. 

  • Manage support staff

Job Requirements:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and non-profit management experience.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful fundraising events and grants. 

  • An arts background as well as knowledge of and strong interest in environmental issues. 

  • Ability to visit Everglades National Park 3-4x per month, to cultivate relationships with park personnel and other environmental and conservation organizations in the area. 

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and organization. 

  • Strong ability to work independently but also in a collaborative team environment. 

  • Strong ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and create / execute within firm/tight deadlines. 

  • Strong follow-through capabilities.

  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of QuickBooks online, Gmail, Excel, and Email marketing providers.

  • Command of social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc) 

  • Basic graphic design skills a plus.
