Background

As the focal point of performing arts activity in South Florida, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County serves as a showcase for the finest in established and developing performing arts programs. The Center is the foundation on which established resident organizations build their programs and extend their reach. The Center also serves as a laboratory, providing first class accessible facilities for smaller, emerging and developing organizations and for the Center’s own innovative productions and events.

Program Description

As a Fundraising Administrative Intern, you will gain firsthand experience concerning fundraising at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, by interacting/developing pivotal relationships with key members and donors. This position works directly with Executive Assistant to the VP of Advancement to gain a whole view into the different campaigns and fundraising avenues utilized by the center for acquisition and retention.

Job Requirements:

Intern Responsibilities

The Fundraising Administrative Intern assists the Executive Assistant to the VP of Advancement with the following:

• Aiding in all aspects of Donor stewardship 
• Assisting with planning and executing special events
• Conducting relevant research
• Coordinating departmental marketing efforts 
• Supporting the management of a Board of Directors    
• Administrative duties as assigned  

 Program Requirements

• Junior or Senior College/University Status pursuing a degree in Fundraising, Communications, Non-Profit Management or related feel. 
• Strong written and interpersonal skills
• Strong communication and phone skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Mail merging
• Easy adaptability to last-minute changes and assignments
• Must take pride and initiative in one’s work 
• 16 hours per week minimum 

This is an unpaid internship, but it can be taken for school credit. 

Internship dates: June 1, 2020 - August 31, 2020
