Knight Foundation is seeking a resourceful, solutions-oriented problem solver to join our Arts team.  If you excel at grasping the big picture, enjoy looking ahead in anticipation of what’s next and thrive at managing the information of a busy department, we want to hear from you.  This executive assistant reports to our vice president/arts in our Miami office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate, plan, organize, coordinate and track the vice president’s priorities.
  • Manage the vice president’s calendar, travel and expenses.
  • Process vendor contracts and payments.
  • Develop strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Manage budgets associated with assigned projects.
  • Partner with the events team to plan, organize and execute arts-related events.
  • Play a role on the broader support staff team on rotating shared duties.

Things we look for in a successful candidate:

  • Experience working in a high-performing, deadline-oriented environment as an administrative assistant to an executive.
  • Proven clear-thinker who is well-organized and operates with a sense of urgency in a calm manner.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, self-starter and able to accomplish a lot in a short period of time.
  • Collaborative worker who enjoys teamwork.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An appreciation for the importance of maintaining confidential information.
  • An ability to travel a few times a year.

Knight Foundation is a national foundation with strong local roots. We invest in journalism, in the arts and in the success of cities where brothers John S. and James L. Knight once published newspapers. Our goal is to foster informed and engaged communities, which we believe are essential for a healthy democracy.

Our approach is inclusive and non-partisan, and we often embrace new and innovative technology to achieve our goals. The qualities we look for are openness to new ideas; courage to push for change; and the expertise and tenacity to achieve the desired results. Tell us what excites you about this opportunity and why you are right for it.
