Job Description:

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is seeking an experienced, skilled, and highly motivated Advancement Services and Membership Manager.

Position Description

Reporting to the Major Gifts Officer, the Advancement Services and Membership Manager is responsible for managing membership marketing efforts, partnerships and donor service process to ensure the membership team meets and exceeds its monthly and yearly fundraising goals. This position is responsible for curating effective acquisition and retention strategies at all levels by cultivating their understanding of Arsht Center programs, brand and mission. Responsible for member relations, benefit fulfillment and overseeing gift entry processes.
As an essential member of the Advancement team, this professional will help to service the needs of all members of the Arsht Center as a leader in donor relations while providing the greater team with actionable intel on donor trends and interests to maximize all engagement opportunities.

Responsibilities

The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to items on this list.

Gift Entry and Membership Fulfillment (40%)
• Manage an Advancement Services and Membership Assistant, volunteers and interns on a weekly basis;
• Maintains inventories of all membership recruitment and fulfillment materials;
• Maintains accurate and updated member files (database, electronic and paper), in a timely manner and according to established protocols;
• Primary point of contact for member benefit fulfillment;
• Departmental liaison with Box Office, Volunteer Services and Marketing Departments for fulfillment of member benefits.

Stewardship and Donor Relations (30%)
• Provide exceptional front-line donor service responding to incoming member/non-member requests for support and information via phone, email, etc.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors and prospects via phone calls, ongoing written contact, personal visits, personalized emails and events;
• Responsible con annual giving donors upgrade, retention and acquisition;
• Maintain an active portfolio of at least 100 prospects;
• Educate, inform and act as liaison with prospects and current donors about the Arsht Center programming and educational programs.

Marketing and Communications (30%)
• Manage all marketing and communications activities related to acquisition, retention and institutional campaigns for Annual Campaign and Membership;
• Establish and retain partnerships with cultural organizations and businesses to increase brand awareness, retention rate and expand membership benefits;
• Prepare spreadsheets, power point presentations, etc. related to the Annual Campaign;
• Drafts and prepares letters, proposals, fact sheets, presentations and additional materials as needed.

Job Requirements:

Other Responsibilities

• Support Vice-President of Advancement and Major Gifts Officer in all fundraising and team building initiatives;
• Responsible for Annual Campaign and Membership monthly and yearly fundraising goals;
• Participate and share in prospecting meeting and strategy;
• Performs related and other duties as assigned by the Major Gifts Officer.

Note: This position requires flexibility in scheduling the workday, as this position requires irregular hours.

Ideal Experience

• College graduate with professional experience in fundraising and marketing
• Demonstrated interest in the arts and culture preferred.
• Enthusiastic, creative, flexible team player who embraces challenges and works proactively.
• 3+ years’ experience in a non-profit fundraising capacity preferred.
• Independent worker that is creative, resourceful, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
• Two years of experience with organization, coordination and performance of duties at a responsible level.
• Must be adept at problem-solving with the ability to multi-task, establish priorities and react when those priorities are shift.
• Knowledge of Tessitura and database functions a plus.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
• Experience in a performing arts organization, museum, university, or other cultural organization.
• Familiarity with the South Florida arts community.
• Experience working in a large, complex organization and general venue operations knowledge.
• Bi-Lingual.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, communicate, and use repetitive motions.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently lift and or move 20 pounds of materials.
• The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from multiple people and interact with the public and other staff.
